Outrageous Treatment on a Day That Was Supposed to Be Unforgettable I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Chicago to celebrate one of the most important days of my life: my graduation. I booked the reservation trusting in the promise of early check-in, something that was essential for me that day. However, they failed to keep that promise, and because of that, I couldn’t even shower in my room on time. I was forced to change in the hotel’s public restroom, losing all privacy and comfort something unacceptable in any hotel, especially one of this category. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I expected respectful treatment and clear communication regarding the benefits I’m entitled to, such as the breakfast credit but I was never informed about any of it. The room they eventually gave me was a joke: damaged walls, no conditioner in the bathroom, and no extra blanket. I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night to ask for a blanket because it was cold. Instead of enjoying and celebrating my graduation, I had to endure a day full of frustration, discomfort, and disappointment due to the staff’s and hotel’s disrespect and negligence. Hilton prides itself on quality and hospitality, but this experience was a disgrace that I hope no other guest has to go through. I’m not looking for favors just a minimum level of respect and basic service. Hilton completely failed in this case.
