Location is fantastic. Quiet area, near a lovely town hub with lots to eat and shop and explore. The wildlife in the area is lovely. The style of the resort is very picturesque and it was kept very clean, for the most part. I enjoyed the bakery that was on site. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The TV remote didn't work but the TV did and I enjoyed the cable. The doors were very heavy and slammed easily so I was woken up late at night from nearby doors opening/closing. There was also a big gap under the front door so a ton of light got into the room, which was super annoying as someone who is light-sensitive at night. I came to the resort as part of a group of teachers attending a conference and we all checked in one at a time in our group. My colleague, who was the only non-white member of our group, was treated very differently than the rest of us during check-in. The staff member was dismissive and talked down to her. Out of all of us, she was the only one to receive a literal 5-minute lecture from the staff member about how smoking and drug use was not allowed. I guess since my colleague wasn't white that the staff member assumed she was a drug user since no other person in our convention group got a smoking/drug warning, not to mention a 5-minute lecture about it. My colleague was also the only one not asked if she had a vehicle that she needed to check in, so she had to go back in the evening since she didn't realize she had to check in her car. The rest of us were asked about checking in our cars. I was standing off to the side waiting for my colleague to finish checking in and she was talked to significantly longer than anyone else in line about the rules and clearly being treated differently. If that had not happened, I probably would have put this at a 4 star review instead, but that kind of treatment of customers is just not acceptable.
