We were here 7yrs ago and it’s really gone downhill sadly. Fabulous location BUT the lodges are now tired and worn. The floors upstairs are so creaky it is thunderous to anyone downstairs. The blocked gutters creating a lot of noise in heavy downpours. The pool area needs a refurb too with one of the handles to the pool being broken badly from the side and green slime all around the edge of the jacuzzi steps that need a jet wash. I’d mention the restaurant but it’s never open! For a week long stay it was closed Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday with no availability on the three remaining days. The beds were awful so sleeping has been tough for everyone. Hard and lumpy. And finally, there are 4 electric car charging points now which is great, but selfish guests enjoy parking there in petrol vehicles. Finally some of the other guests were not so pleasant. We had some trouble with rough teenagers being selfish in the pool, the police were called during our stay as a member of staff was assaulted by a guest which was all played out quite publicly in reception in front of guests coming and going - including our youngchildren. On the plus side, the location is stunning and it’s such a great spot to get out and explore. The lodges are a good size for a family of 6 and with a bit of TLC (not just some cheap airfresheners to mask the smell of damp) they could be a really wonderful holiday destination. For a really large family it’s been fantastic to be able to have three lodges near enough to all spend lots of quality time together. Seasons - this place was such a gem, please invest a little in some renovation.
