Guests cherish The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North in Lahaina for its upscale residential feeling within the quiet North Kaanapali neighborhood. While the staff provides warm and helpful service, the real luxury here is the relaxed independence of having a full kitchen and laundry in your villa. The atmosphere is peaceful and family focused, anchored by the popular pirate ship pool. A key insider detail is that the North tower features a maze like layout, so expect some weaving through long hallways to reach your room.
Special thanks to cultural advisor Kaila (Mikaila).! She teaches and demonstrates Hawaiian culture (including Hawaiian and Tahitian dance fitness) in a way that is fun, beautiful, and memorable, welcoming and knowledgeable, with so much warmth and good spirit of Hawaii! She made me feel like a friend and family, and I would come back to the Westin for that experience again! She is the good spirit of Hawaii. The resort is beautiful with gorgeous landscaping and pools, terrific views, the the best beachfront snorkeling in all of Maui. Of the on-premises restaurants, Auntie’s Kitchen is better. Walking the beachfront trail takes you easily by foot to Black Rock for more snorkeling. Our suite was nice with an ocean view and comfortable, enjoyable balcony, sofa, and great bedding on the bed. The water pressure in the shower could have been stronger but was otherwise good. The interior decor is nice and feels like a luxury Hawaiian vacation. The koi and water lilies in the ponds are also lots of fun to watch. Next time, I’d like to try the Spa and meditation garden.
