Have you ever been catfished by pictures on a website? This is exactly what happened at Carina Bay. As we pulled up to the hotel I thought we were in the wrong location. The exterior of the hotel needs WORK. Luckily our room was renovated and clean. Not without a few hiccups. The room keys didn’t work when we checked in so I had to trek back to the lobby. The phone in the room also didn’t work so whenever we needed something we had to go to the lobby. The front desk agents are clueless. They don’t know what time things open like the activity center or if the activities scheduled for the day are going to happen. Farah the activities director was never to be found during these so called activities. The Canvas & Cocktail activity was cancelled with no notice because they did not have any canvases. The Body Butter making class never happened. The list goes on. The pool is GROSS! There are bugs living in the pool that swim around EVERYWHERE. They look like swimming ticks . Not even the chlorine kills those things. The hot tub was a joke. The water was colder than the pool. The kayaks 3 out of the 5 were broken. The only thing in our stay that was decent was the bar. The bartenders were nice and engaging. The cooks made the meals with love. It’s the only saving grace in the hotel. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay.
