We stayed for a week in the San Diego building and really enjoyed it! The resort has beautiful grounds and views over the ocean and the hills inland. The gardens are really well maintained and so are the water features and pools. All the staff are so nice and friendly, from the cleaners to the restaurant staff. The poolside is really relaxing with a good number of beds, but during high season would probably be filled very soon after opening. There is a small gym and a treatment room on site. We had really nice massages there. Our apartment was a good size and very quiet at night. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and a frying pan, mixed knives etc. There was bread, eggs, orange juice, butter and seasoning left out for us on arrival. The apartment bin was collected every second day and the towels were changed twice during our stay. The air con was good and silent. Washer and dryer available but bring your own detergent. The only two downsides for us were that the bed and sofa were both very hard and small so we struggled to relax properly when hanging out in the apartment and both got sore backs. Also the restaurants on site are OK, but overpriced. However you can walk 10-20 minutes off site and get better food around El Faro for better prices. If you stayed here without a car, you'd be reliant on taxis - there is a rank on the resort.
