The resort is one of the best I have stayed in for a while. The views and the beach is breath taking. The rooms are well maintained and is well equipped for a short stay. The service from the team managing the needs of the hotel guest is one of the best. We raised a concern regarding a waiters attitude towards us as guest and it was immediately addressed and sorted out in a professional manner. The entertainment and what the resort offers is tops. The main reasons I dropped one star for our seven days stay It becomes a bit much eating breakfast, lunch and dinner for seven days in the resort and in coffee shops and restaurants. Would have been nice if there was a bit of a self catering setup. These three items could not hold against the resort but feel they could have addressed the leader of the touring group from India and taken it up with the south African Police. There was tour group from India and I do understand the excitement being in another country but taking loud in the passage night after night and ignoring request from other hotel guest being ignored was not on. We had a room on the western side of the resort and had a view over the beach. On two occasions at 03H00 there seems to have been a person (think it was a segoma - Another name would be a African Witch doctors) shouting and singing some ritual songs at the top of his voice. When we took it up with the staff they indicated they could not do anything about it, In my opinion the South African Police could have been called requesting them to attend to the matters as ‘disturbing the peace’. Lastly, to be in a resort for seven days and the majority of guest are very old also places a bit of a damper on ones holiday spirit. I do realize I might also be old one day but if you consider spending time at the resort as a youngster rather look at a season when there are younger people on holiday. All in all a very nice place to relax and enjoy Plettenberg Bay despite the three items mentioned above.
