A family friendly secluded club that forces you to adjust your expectations before arrival. If you’re from QLD, steer clear of this place during tourist season. Positive: • A quiet, secluded place away from the party crowds in Cairns. • They have a beautiful “back yard” with much nature that is shading or partly shading the pool/ spa and BBQ area. • Satisfactory, good facilities with everything you need in one place, bin rooms, apartment with equipment etc. • Apartments can comfortably fit 4 people. Negative: • Be very careful with taking advice from the reception staff regarding experiences if you’re over 25 yo. • Do NOT book anything through them! You will have to pay TWICE and you will NOT get a refund. • The pool is always crowded with screaming kids and oblivious parents, making relaxation impossible. Don’t expect to have a relaxing day at the pool, you’ll be sorely disappointed. This goes on until 10pm when the pool closes. • The pool is just as hot as the air, don’t expect a cooling swim. • The beds have wheels that can NOT be locked, expect to wake up tired from a moving bed. • Don’t let yourself be fooled by the “package deals” they have on the flyers at reception. Do your own research, visit the places/ look at the boats physically before booking and you’ll have a good time. Aquarium with dinner? No, just do them separately. • The bathrooms and fans are very dirty, it’s quite off-putting. • You WILL cook your own food, there is nothing “to eat out” worthwhile around.
