I stayed at Dreams Tulum for 6 days. A year ago I stayed at Dreams Cancun and Cancun location was a much better experience. The resort layout is very spread out. It wasn’t difficult to get around but just long enough to be inconvenient. There are priority rooms closer to the pool/beach but we didn’t pay for a priority room. If you’re looking for convenience of room location I recommend upgrading to be closer to the pool. The reason I rate this experience so low is because the communication amongst staff departments is poor. There were several instances when they would call our room asking if we wanted cleaning services to come by (because we had do not disturb set during the time we were in there and when they attempted to come by). We gave them a specific time over the phone that would be good for the next day, and they didn’t show up. Every day this happened. We had zero cleaning services done while we were there. They also called us the night before we left asking if we wanted help with bringing our bags to checkout, we thought that was a nice gesture and agreed on a time. Guess what? … they didn’t show up at the agreed time. Or at all. We called that morning asking again if someone was coming because it was past the agreed time. They said they’d send someone over and be there in 5 minutes. The person was 20 minutes late and by then we already took all our stuff to the lobby for checkout. They have piss poor communication from department to department or shift to shift. Oh and the food sucks. The world cafe is just pastries and carbs. There’s always a line for the 1 egg station. It’s comparable to our average hotel breakfast. Now, this part of the review has nothing to do with the resort itself, but I hope you find this helpful if you’re traveling with a baby. I brought my 4 month old along who is drinking from a bottle at the time and the amount of bottle/pump part washing I had to do was very inconvenient and made the experience even worse. I don’t recommend a Mexico trip with a baby - mostly because you should use bottled water to clean everything and for the amount of bottles water I needed, it was hard to come by/request from the resort. I called and asked for 10 bottles and they said they can only bring me 6 per day. So everywhere I went I was getting more bottles to stock pile so I could clean baby things. Like I said, just inconvenient. Maybe my experience overall would have been different if I didn’t travel with a baby but I didn’t get the vibe they were “kid friendly” when we took him out and about either. It’s more “kid tolerated”
