Nestled deep within the lush greenery of Mangala Village, Bandipur, Country Club offers a truly immersive forest retreat. The winding drive through the Western Ghats builds anticipation, and once you arrive, the panoramic views of canopied treetops and distant hills immediately captivate you. The resort’s location is its greatest asset—if you long for tranquillity and fresh, woodland air, you won’t be disappointed. From check-in to check-out, the staff consistently impresses with their warmth and genuine friendliness. Whether you’re greeted at reception, served in the restaurant, or asking for extra towels, every team member goes out of their way to ensure you feel welcome. That said, several areas deserve attention. While the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, the interiors feel tired and in need of modernization—upgraded furnishings, brighter lighting, and fresh décor would go a long way. Most urgently, the toilets across all accommodations require serious renovation; outdated fixtures and water stains distract from an otherwise pleasant stay. The restaurant and common areas also show signs of wear and could benefit from a facelift and some contemporary amenities. On the brighter side, the swimming pool is well maintained and offers a refreshing escape, and the on-site restaurant serves tasty, hearty meals. I also miss the guided trekking and nightly bonfires that were available during my last visit—reinstating these activities would perfectly complement the resort’s natural setting and elevate the overall experience. Overall, Country Club Bandipur has immense potential: with targeted upgrades and a few revived activities, it could become the premier forest getaway in the region.
