We were very happy with our stay here. We booked a premium room for one night because it’s a 30 minute walk to the Bamboo forest. We also wanted to get to the forest for 6am. It is in a quieter location of Kyoto, which seemed more residential. This was an additional plus for us because we like to experience different parts of Japan, and the location gave us the experience of local life compared to central Kyoto. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room for the price. There are also smoking room options available. And a smoking room at reception. The service has been fantastic, it greatly exceeded our expectations. I bought a microwave meal from Family Mart and a member of staff came to the room, took the food to heat and returned it to the room. There is also a free shuttle bus that takes you to the station. The interior was less modern than other places we have stayed, however we didn’t mind at all because it was comfortable, it was spacious, the staff were friendly, the service was brilliant and the location was perfect.
