Disappointed with My Stay at Royalton Hideaway I have visited Jamaica many times, and Royalton properties have always been my go-to choice based on various factors. However, had this been my first experience, I would never return. I booked the Diamond Club as usual, but this stay was far below the standard I’ve come to expect. Normally, upon arrival, I am met with smiles, music, and a welcoming atmosphere—but this time, the mood felt somber, indifferent, and, honestly, rude. Throughout the Diamond Club, I kept hearing similar complaints from other guests. The staff seemed downbeat, with many coming across as impolite or even condescending. One particular staff member, Kerrinne, clearly needs additional customer service training. I never received the 600 credits I repeatedly asked for, nor was I given any proper introduction on what to expect during my stay. The check-in process felt transactional—take my money, hand me a band, and then wait…and wait…and wait. The room quality did not match Diamond Club standards. Blue Waters rooms provide a far superior experience in comparison. For an adult-only setting, the resort felt sluggish and uninspired, except for the pool bar, where some energy could be found. As a solo female traveler, I was frequently propositioned, making my stay uncomfortable. I didn’t come here seeking romance—I came for peace. On a positive note, my butlers, Dan and Rikki, were helpful, but given my previous experiences at this resort, I have a strong basis for comparison. The food was inconsistent—breakfast was enjoyable but slow (please assign another smoothie maker to speed things up). Unfortunately, I cracked my molar on a bone in the jerk chicken. The dinner options were merely average, nothing remarkable. The property itself is clean but uninspiring. Jamaica is known for its vibrant energy, music, and overall vibe—but that essence was missing during this visit, leaving me deeply disappointed. While I still made the most of my time by relaxing in my room, this experience was not what I anticipated from Royalton Hideaway.
