The Reef is a secret getaway spot that is great. It’s about an hour and a half drive from the Merida airport, and there is no shuttle service, so you have to rent a car, but if you are a wee bit adventurous you will get to enjoy a hidden treasure in the Yucatán. Super affordable, all inclusive, and the staff are there to please. It helps if you speak some Spanish but the staff speak some English and will work hard to communicate with you.
