Marco Beach is lined with two dozen or more gated condo hotels, with only two places for public access with small parking lots that are expensive and always full by 9 AM. So if you planned on going to the beach you are out of luck. However, MBVS also known as beach club of Marco, has its own private gated five foot wide 250 foot long pathway between two condos with direct access to the beach right across the street. This feature alone negates the many detriments of the hotel highlighted in the other negative reviews here. Yes the building is dated, the rooms not fancy, the furniture looks to be from the thrift store, there are no services, and the pool umbrellas are broken. I had to go to the thrift store to buy eating utensils and cookware, left them behind, and they are still here the next year. Price is half of what a decent private house rental would cost elsewhere, and then you would still have no way to go to the beach. If you have friends in town they can come park at your place and go to the beach with you, or even without you, because no one monitors the parking lot which is always 90 percent empty. Anything you nee d within walking distance, except of course the old Marco and bald eagle areas that you would still need to drive to. This is my third year in a row here. And it is a dump but i don't care and spend my money on other things.
