When I checked in, I was not informed that the air conditioning was broken. There was also no way to change the temperature within each individual room. When I called the front desk about it, they delivered a space heater with a label on it threatening to charge me $60 if the heater was not returned to the front desk at check-out. The room was quiet, but it smelled musty and I discovered a sticky substance on the side of the bedside table when I turned off my alarm the following morning. The door locks functioned, but not well, and the door was difficult to open and close, with significant gaps where weather stripping was missing. It was also incredibly dark, and the closet was missing its doors entirely. I stayed the night since my stay was non-refundable, but had my visit been for more than one night, I’d have left early. When I tried to bring these issues at check-out, there was no one at the front desk to handle my complaints except a security guard who ridiculed me for my concerns. I asked for him to please have someone call me once they arrived at 8 am, and although he assured me that he would, no one ever called. This is the first negative review I have ever left, but I wanted to be sure to warn others that this hotel is not upfront about their rooms, their broken heating/cooling system, or their policies. This is not a resort. It is run-down hotel. Motel 6 is cheaper and cleaner, with a much friendlier staff. I will not stay again, and will warn everyone I know not to allow their family to stay here while visiting.
