A local hotel CANCELLED us on the day of our travel. We found this hotel and booked in and within half an hour the amazing gentleman on reception rang to organise us a car parking space. Local hotel Steinbeck had no such courtesy for us! We were taking the train so he advised us on the local bus we can take with luggage in hand. (You get a bus card with your stay so you can get free travel to the centre of Grindelwald - 12 min walk or 3 min bus). The view is INSANE???? See photo from our hotel room. The rooms are not the Ritz. But then again what do you expect when you are on a mountain???? They are standard rooms, comfy bed and lovely bathroom, but why bother when you should be outside exploring the wonderful place you find yourself in. The best part of our hotel stay was the amazing receptionist who helped us through our stay. He was working overtime over new year and Christmas and was amazing. Heads up! Go coop with supplies if you intend to drink and stay in for the night. Thanks for the memories!
