We stayed here for one night and were quite disappointed — especially given the price ($200+ per night). The photos on the booking site are misleading. While the building may have historic charm, the reality is that it’s dated and poorly maintained. The stairs at the entrance had peeling paint, and the room had a strong chemical smell that required hours of ventilation. We also had to wait 5 min for check in because we were 5 mins too early. Who says this? The biggest issue was discovering a bug inside a coffee mug from the cupboard — after drinking from it, which was really disturbing and raised concerns about cleanliness. Also, there’s very little to do in June Lake, especially if you’re only there for a short stay. The setting is scenic, but beyond a quick walk or drive, there isn’t much to keep you engaged. For the price we paid, I expected far better upkeep, cleanliness, and overall value. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again or recommend it.
