All staff are kind and helpful. Amenities and entertainment options are nice and plentiful. Enjoyed the ocean pool, clean large swimming pools, and water slides. Rooms had good AC but are old and not maintained. Whenever it rained overnight there was a big puddle of water by the sliding door despite never being open. There was a live spider on the bed sheets upon check-in, and a gecko was crawling on my walls despite doors and windows never being left open that didn’t have a bug screen. Shower has a weird design where only a 1/3rd of its doorway is covered so the bathroom floods whenever you use it. El Salvador weather can be miserably hot and humid, which made eating in the open-air buffet and restaurants uncomfortable. Had to swat flies away from my food often and move my feet constantly so ants wouldn’t crawl and bite me. In the buffet I noticed a few occasions where bugs would land on a food item left unattended, which is why I’m not surprised most people in my group got sick stomachs while we were here. I get it’s a tropical environment but bug-spraying food areas and having covers is the least they could do. Went in late May so nights were loud with high tides and constant thunderstorms.
