My visit to Balmoral Castle was a truly special experience, and I’m genuinely happy I had the chance to see it. Beyond the elegance and impressive history of the castle itself, what struck me the most was the way the entire surrounding estate is arranged. In addition to the natural beauty of the place, visitors are invited to explore a series of charming spots — thoughtful features that draw you to walk every path through the surrounding forest. The Squirrel Trail, for example, is a clever and playful idea — not real squirrels, but wooden sculptures, each one accompanied by a small game that adds a sense of fun and curiosity to the walk. I was also touched by the peacefulness of the pet cemetery and the emotion conveyed by the statue of Noble the dog — a gentle tribute to the bond between people and their animals. Every stop along the trail tells its own story and contributes to the warm, personal atmosphere of the estate. Another part I especially enjoyed was the castle’s garden, beautifully maintained and full of colour. The greenhouses shelter a variety of carefully tended flowers and plants, and nestled among the floral paths is a small maze, adding a playful yet elegant touch to the setting. Everything is arranged with taste and attention to detail, inviting you to pause often and take in the peace and beauty of the surroundings. And above it all lies the castle’s rich history — the summer residence of the British royal family since the time of Queen Victoria. You can feel, in every corner, the echo of royal tradition passed down through generations, in a place that lovingly preserves the past while welcoming today’s visitors. Balmoral is not just a castle — it’s a living place, where nature, history, and emotion come together in a truly unique way.
