We really enjoyed our stay at Forever Resorts Badplaas, eManzana. Visiting after many years, it certainly brought back fond childhood memories. The accommodation was cozy, comfortable, well maintained, well equipped, and exceeded our expectations. The outdoor pools, hydro, slides (only 2, just FYI) and tube rapids were very enjoyable. The extra activities that the resort offers are definitely worth experiencing and reasonably priced, especially the hike trails, game drive, and horse riding (couple of caveats here, but more on that in a bit). They also offer quad biking, go-karting, paintball and various blissful treatments at the spa. There's also an on-site convenience store and a small botanical garden to explore. The location of the resort is picturesque, with towering mountains as a backdrop and a roaring waterfall which can be viewed on the game drive or on the hiking trails. The only 2 downsides during our stay were: 1) The staff who oversee the horse riding were extremely rude, abrupt, and plainly unprofessional. While I understand that staff who oversee this sort of activity do need to be firm to ensure safety of all riders, it in no way justifies being vulgar and rude toward riders - especially beginners who ask for clarity or assistance and make it clear from the on-set that they are beginners. The horses were actually easier to interact with than the staff responsible for the experience. The rest of the staff at the resort though, were very friendly and welcoming 2) Before embarking on the hiking trails, you are gifted with a trail map that looks like it was printed with the lightest possible shade of printer ink. So perhaps a refill of the printing ink cartridges is needed so that hikers can actually make out what the map is saying. The trail is well marked for the most part, but at parts where it isn't, a discernible, well printed and clear trail map would definitely come in handy. Despite the 2 cons above, it was overall, a great experience. Would recommend
