Very Disappointing and Unacceptable Stay – Poor Maintenance, Poor Service I had high expectations when booking Hilton Vacation Club The Crane Barbados, but unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had — absolutely not worthy of a Hilton brand. We arrived around midnight after a delayed flight from Trinidad. Upon checking into our room and getting into bed, I experienced severe itching across my body within minutes. It worsened rapidly — clearly some issue with the bedding. When I called for help, I was told maintenance was closed, and front desk could not assist. Only after escalating the issue did the night manager, Mr. Adrian (who was polite and tried his best), manage to find some linen with the help of security — but it took until 4:00 AM for the bedding to be replaced, ruining our first night’s rest. On top of this, there was no water provided in the room — even a basic courtesy bottle was missing. I had to walk down to the front desk myself at midnight to ask for water, only to be told my room phone was not working due to maintenance. Very poor communication and service. The next morning, the problems continued: • The toilet was not flushing properly — extremely inconvenient and embarrassing situation. • The shower was barely working — most holes were blocked and only a thin stream of water came from the sides. • The breakfast service was another disaster — though told it ran till 11:00 AM, when we arrived at 10:30, there was almost nothing left. No plates, no proper buffet replenishment, and we were told we were late! The next day we arrived earlier and found the same situation. Paying an expensive breakfast rate for such poor quality is unacceptable. Finally, on our day of departure, I was shocked to learn that the check-out time was 10:00 AM — unusually early for an international standard. I requested a slight extension due to our late flight, but the front desk was rude and unhelpful, placing me on hold multiple times and grudgingly allowing only till 11:30 AM. This level of service and attitude is not acceptable. In summary: ✅ Beautiful property and views ❌ Horrible service ❌ Poor maintenance ❌ Poor communication ❌ Rude front desk staff (some exceptions like Mr. Adrian at night) ❌ Basic guest comforts not met For the amount charged (~USD 350 per night), this is a zero-star experience. I will never recommend this property to anyone. My stay here was deeply disappointing, and I hope Hilton will seriously address these issues.
