28:T56d,The front desk agent gave us misleading information regarding one of their Airbnb partners. We initially found the listing on Booking.com, showing a very attractive price of $60 per night, and decided to book it. However, after booking, we were told that a mandatory $200+ in the form of “cleaning fee” would be charged upon checkout. To confirm check-in, we were required to either (1) provide our credit card information and authorize a $700 deposit for potential damages, or (2) pay a non-refundable $50 damage waiver. If we refused both, the only option was to cancel the reservation — and doing so would incur a $91 cancellation fee. We could have avoided this financial loss by not giving our credit card information in the checkin form, but unfortunately, the front desk agent misled us, encouraged us to submit the information, and essentially set us up for this trap. We understand the hotel’s limited ability to intervene with their external collaborators. However, it is extremely unwise — and disappointing — to mislead your customers into a financial loss. We are giving one star only for the service we received at the front desk. We sincerely hope the hotel will reconsider its partnerships in the future. P.S. For future customers: During the entire time we were trying to resolve our issue, the swimming pool and hot tub were pretty packed the whole time.
